Why did you choose this course?

I have been teaching for over 10 years now and I believe that this course will help me share my visions and experiences about the schooling systems and teaching strategies.

What attracted you to online learning?

I was attracted to online learning so that I can keep on going with my busy life and meanwhile make my own time to study.

Why did you choose the University of Derby Online Learning?

I chose UDOL because my cousin recommended it to me when I was thinking of studying for my degree online.

What were your goals and aspirations when starting your course? Have they changed during study?

My goals and aspirations are to further enhance my knowledge, share my experiences with others and also to increase my potential for job opportunities within education and teaching.

How did you balance your study around professional/personal commitments?

I always try to plan my studies day by day in order to be able to balance enough time for doing necessary reading, studying and assignments. Meanwhile, I try to be disciplined when it comes to time management so that I can still undertake my daily duties and other personal commitments.

How would you describe your online learning experience at Derby? What did you find particularly beneficial?

The lecturers at UDOL are very helpful and I feel very respected. What I really find very beneficial is the fact that I can study in my own time to complete the course.

What was your most memorable moment during your time at Derby?

My most memorable moment was when I attended the open day. I was so excited to visit the University of Derby and meet one of the online learning advisors. The staff were so nice and helpful and I remember the online learning stand at the atrium was very interesting. After such a warm welcome, I made up my mind to enrol and start studying.

How has your qualification helped your career? Has the knowledge you have acquired, complimented previous work experience in any way?

Teaching requires very good communication skills and the fact that I am a graduate in this area, really helps me transfer good practice of teaching for my students. Now as a head of department I use my skills to ensure my department teachers are communicating the right messages to our students whilst also addressing all learning outcomes.

Go ahead and enrol - don't be afraid, just make up your mind and go ahead.
