Dolls
Dolls is a short film shot on the Red Camera in the summer of 2009. It forms part of a study of digital and analogue filmmaking in relation to narrational concerns of aesthestics and filmic devices.
The film is currently being colour graded and is close to completion, where it will be released on the interenational film festival circuit.
Synopsis:
George and Tabitha are playing potentially sadistic games in the playroom, As the power struggle seesaws, George removes Tabitha from the dolls house and pretends she is his prize toy, but Tabitha has other games in mind.
Director Biography:
Kelly Holmes achieved success with the short film The Grab at 22 international film festivals, winning best film awards and special mentions during 2006-8. Whilst teaching film theory and production at the University of Derby, she also assists others in the East Midlands area producing and production managing. She has just finished directing the short film Dolls and is in post production on Donor, a ten minute short shot on Super 16mm. Her next directing project surrounds the Nottingham Goose Fair and has just been funded to shoot in January 2011.
